New Italian Wines

Just added to the Ristorante Firenze wine list, three red wines from very different regions in Italy.  Terradora Dipaolo Aglianico ($10 glass/$29 bottle) is a medium-to-full bodied wine from Campania, in the South of Italy.  Cantina Valle Tritana, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is a classic varietal at a great price ($8 glass/$24 bottle) from Abruzzo (central Eastern Italy).  Finally, the cream of this crop, the Cantine San Marzano Primitivo di Manduria Anniversario 62 Riserva, and old-vine reserve Primitivo from Puglia (heel of the boot) that just loves food!  Stop in for Happy Hour for 1/3 off the glasses and on Wednesday night for half-price bottles.  You will not be disappointed in this mini-tour of Italian wines!

Firenze in Style Magazine

The May issue of Baltimore Style Magazine featured Ristorante Firenze in the Restaurant Deconstructed column.  I hope you get a chance to see the print version, as it contains many more photos…expertly taken.  We were quite grateful to be covered by such a great magazine, which did an outstanding job telling our story and showing our wares.  Grazie!

Wine Palate Training

Ever take a sip of wine, and know you recognize a flavor but cannot readily name it?  Want to take the guesswork out of choosing wines that suit your own unique palate? Up your wine IQ by training your palate to identify the major flavor components of wine.  This simple and enlightening tasting drill from our friends at the Wine Folly blog test will help you to hone in on your own personal preferences.  We have featured the award-winning Wine Folly blog in our own entries in the past, and recommend anyone interested in wine to read the blog and subscribe to their emails.

Anyone interested in setting up this exercise at the restaurant? Let me know by email (info@eatfirenze.com) and if enough people want this we would be happy to do it.
