Ristorante Firenze was honored to have Vincenzo Ippolito, owner of Ippolito Vineyards of Calabria, Italy, in the restaurant on Saturday February 18th. Vincenzo was in town as part of US tour to promote his family's wines. If you have not had a chance to try it, be sure to ask for "I Mori" on your next visit. A blend of Calabrian grape, Gaggliopo, and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is a rich, spicy red with notes of dark red fruits and smooth tannins. On Wednesdays, it is half price.
Looking for a new Wine to try? How about this new fun summer wine recently added to our Wine List.
“…buy me some peanuts and Baltimore Orioles Cabernet Sauvignon…”
What??? That’s right, the Orioles and MLB leave no earning opportunity untapped by offering private-labeled wines. The 2013 Orioles edition is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Syrah, and Merlot from California’s Central Coast AVA.
Even though diehard O’s fans could be excused for drinking it no matter how it tastes, let me assure you that it is GOOD. A regular customer told us about it, and once we tried it we were happy to add it to our list.
Come in and enjoy it at Ristorante Firenze with some pasta while watching the Birds on our 4 large screen TV’s. And don’t forget it will be half- price on Wine Wednesday. Every Wednesday night after 4 all bottles under $125 are 50% off! Make a reservation today.
Our next Coppola wine dinner will be Tuesday, May 24th, from 7:00-9:00 PM. We will be featuring wines from the Coppola family with special dishes in a four-course pairing, all for $49.99 + tax/tip. A representative from Coppola wines will be on hand to talk about the winery and the wines, answer any questions, and award some cool door prizes. You will also be able to purchase wine at a discounted price. Advance purchase is required. Simply order via our online ordering site or call 410-394-5577.
The newest addition to the Ristorante Firenze wine list made its debut at the November 5th Piedmont Wine Dinner. It is the Ermanno Costa ‘Roero Arneis’, a full bodied white wine that we are fortunate to have sourced from Tenth Harvest importers. Arneis is a lesser known varietal in this area, but is highly regarded in the Piemonte region of Italy where it is predominantly grown. Enjoy with the Grouper Piccata that we recently added to our Specials Menu. But hurry, as we were only able to get 6 bottles and 2 are already gone!
