Amaro Amore

One of the great Italian dining traditions is to end a meal with a digestivo, often an Amaro served neat and sipped to settle the stomach after a big meal.  Many of these were originally formulated and dispensed by pharmacists and are believed to have medicinal powers.

Ristorante Firenze just expanded our Amaro selection with the addition of four concoctions that have been around for centuries.  Cynar (based on the artichoke), Averna (from Sicily), Braulio (from the Alpine region), and Ramazzotti (from Milano).  Enjoy a glass, or sample a flight of 3, and end your meal like a true Italiano!

Lights! Camera! Action!

Coming to the “small screen” this September: the first Ristorante Firenze TV commercial.

We had a great time filming with Rachel from ReelMedia, and are very pleased with the finished product.  It will run in selected markets starting in Sept 2017.  Take a sneak peak HERE.

Insider’s info: the old film sequences were actually shot by Brian in the 70’s using his super-8 camera.  Casa di Pasta in Little Italy still makes the highest quality pasta in town in that very same kitchen.  Stop by and ask to see Uncle Frank.

“Up” your Italian Wine Game

One of the best wine education sites on the web, Wine Folly, provides a great overview of the "kings of Italian wine", Barolo and Brunello.  Although the Italian wine spectrum is wide and deep, these two wines consistently deliver and pair perfectly with much of our Authentic Italian Cuisine.  Due to their strict productions regullations and high quality standards, these are generally the more expensive wines from Italy.  Nonetheless, some excelent examples may be found under $100, including Guidobono Barolo "Le Coste di Monforte" ($80) and Centolani Brunello di Montalcino "Pietranera" ($89).  Don't forget, these are half-price on Wednesdays.
